Project Description
The Cordwallis Group required a floor capable of withstanding heavy use, particularly for heavy goods vehicle (HGV) repairs.
Firstly, the removal of the old plastic tiles was carried out. A ride-on tile-lifting bobcat was used to carefully lift the existing tiles. Due to years of oil contamination, extensive grinding of the surface was necessary to ensure thorough cleaning. Our high-powered Husqvarna extraction units removed all dust particles, leaving a clean and prepared surface for the new flooring installation. Next, we applied the 9mm polyurethane screed, which is remarkably durable and engineered to withstand significant impact. Once the
screed had fully cured, we reinstated all the expansion joints. This step is essential to prevent future cracking and to ensure the floor maintains optimal condition over the years. To enhance the protective qualities of the screed and facilitate maintenance, a UV-stable, antislip polyurethane seal coat was applied. This coating not only provides protection against further contamination but also offers a critical antislip surface.
Lastly, we applied clear line markings around the pits, rolling road, and MOT Bay, ensuring the facility met all industry standards.
