Oasis Sholing Academy

Oasis Sholing Academy, Southampton asked GSS Flooring to specify a decorative, slip resistant resin floor finish for their new changing and shower facilities.

The old vinyl and tiled floors were removed and after extensive substrate preparation, a resin DPM primer was applied, prior to a 3mm, self- smoothing epoxy resin-based screed.

Multicolour decorative flakes were then broadcast onto a further application of an epoxy coating through out both male and female changing rooms.

The PVA flakes were replaced with decorative quartz aggregates for the shower areas to give increase slip resistance.

All areas were then sealed with two applications of a UV-stable, clear polyurethane seal coat with a a very durable, matt finish.

This hard-wearing, decorative floor specification is ideal for wet areas such as this but can also be used in all commercial areas, shops, reception areas and any other areas where a decorative, hardwearing resin finish is required.
