Project Description

Sigma Aerospace required a highly chemical-resistant flooring system to be put in place at their electroplating and chemical workshop for aircraft components.

Working on a bunded tank area, we began by cleaning the heavily soiled and contaminated substrate. A two-component specialised oil-capping epoxy primer, and a chemical resistant 4mm self smoothing epoxy resin system were then applied. A resin cove was installed in the bunded area to match the floor finish.

In an adjoining area there was no existing bund in place. As such we erected a one-course block wall, before rendering and coving it with epoxy mortar. The chemical resistant resin was then poured into the bunded area, and painted up and over the cove and walls.
