Work started in late August to renovate several large, disused warehouses and workshops in Southampton ready for new incoming tenants in October.

The concrete floors were in terrible condition with layer upon layer of flaky paint, oil and GRP spillages and contamination throughout.

It took extensive vacuum enclosed shot blasting and heavy diamond grinding to remove all the layers and contamination and expose the concrete substrate.

Further diamond grinding was then carried out to smooth the surface of the rough and pitted concrete prior to carrying out 100s of linear meters of expansion joint repairs using a high strength epoxy mortar.

Two applications of Altro Resins, high-build, water-based epoxy was then applied to the total area prior to re-cutting all the repaired expansion joints and filling them with a flexible, polsulphide resin to reduce the risk of future cracking.
